I used to think steampunk was kinda cool.
Somehow, it seems to have lost all its charm now that the cosplay geeks have jumped on board

I haven't been on line for over a week now - so I apologise to anything (or anyone) that I've missed (and to be honest - I can't be bothered going through a weeks worth of friends pages to find out stuff).
But - just a heads up to anyone who is interested. Tammy and I are going to suffer through our sunburns (I told her that there was no such thing as 50+ sunblock but she insisted on the french stuff) and will be going to SugarTime on saturday night: Bollywood, beehives and burlesque at the Oxford Art Factory, 38-46 Oxford st Darlinghurst from 9pm. It's $25 plus booking fee, but we are going to rock up at 9 and see if we can't get tickets on the door.
We are also going to drop into the Victoria Room at 7pm for cocktails if anyone wishes to join us for that as well.

So we are still trying to work out Saturday.
Tam and I are having High Tea at the Victoria room which should wrap up at about 4.30, but we are still trying to work out the rest of the evening.
Who is going to 34b?
Who is going to Sophie's? What time?
Who may actually turn up for a cocktail or two at the Victoria room - and what time would you do that?
peoples?

So - I came into work this morning to be confronted with the news that a coworker who I had been sitting next to all night on Wednesday night at our staff christmas party has broken out with Chicken Pox.
That's right - Chicken Pox.
So I rang my Mother (and then had to check with my Grandmother) to see if I had chicken pox as a child. Nope.
So Crap - 4 days till Tammy arrives and I may have caught chicken pox - Bravo Life - sometimes you can be a real prick.
So $60 and a jab in the arm later I now have had my chicken pox immunisation - so theoretically everything is fine.
But - jeez man - that was gonna be my drinkin' money.

As you may or not have been aware, recently at the University of Sydney the footbridge over City Road was demolished as part of the campus building works. There is actually a clip of the night time operation on Youtube for those who are interested!
Today is a "headphones in" kind of day.

Buy new zombies.
Take evening classes in placebo.
Lose ten goth aesthetics by March.
Overcome my secret fear of tattoos.
Spend more time with my horror movies.

So I've been thinking of changing my dj name for a while now - you know - into something people can at least pronounce. Preferably something that isn't too old school goth either.
At the moment I'm thinking of HazMat - but am open to suggestions.
What do you guys think? Is changing your dj name after so long a bad thing to do?

So Tammy is arriving in 2.5 weeks.
I'm very much looking forward to this - considering in the last 6 months I have seen her for a grand total of two weeks.
I was hoping to do lots of social stuff so she can meet everyone, make new friends and strengthen previous friendships but am realising it's all going to be kinda hectic since she will be here over the christmas period and there is much we want to do on our own as well.
Anyway - a couple of things that we shall be doing that others, if they wish, may join us are:
Possibly attending Jingle Belles on Friday the 14th in Katoomba
We shall be having high tea at the Victoria Room on Sat 15th following which we shall be lounging around afterwards for cocktails to which you are all welcome. (sorry
khan_orionI couldn't find any other day)
I also figure that we shall attend Tacos on wed 12th or 19th at the Zanzibar if others will be there.
Then the following Friday (21) I believe we are off up the Coast for the usual Christmas shenanigans, but may hang about on the fri and sat if anything is happening.
So. Hopefully people will be around - let me know if stuff is happening - it would be nice for Tammy to see some people while she is here (and I may prove to some that she actually exists...)
